Breckenridge Independent School District honored the Students and Staff of the Month, at the Board of Trustees meeting on Monday, March 16, at the BISD administration office.
On Saturday morning, March 14, Breckenridge Elks Lodge No. 1480 presented four area volunteer fire departments with supplies purchased with an Elks grant.
Billie O’Neal and Helen Haddock, members of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, recently donated two books to the Breckenridge Library: “Remember the Alamo” by Paul Walker and “Captain Putnam for the Republic of Texas” by James Haley.
Breckenridge’s powerlifting program will once again be well-represented on the state stage, as the Buckaroos and Lady Bucks combined to qualify 11 lifters for the upcoming state meets – matching the program’s totals from a year ago despite graduating several top performers.
First Christian Church of Breckenridge to celebrate building’s 100th anniversary on Sunday, March 22
On Sunday, March 22, 2026, the First Christian Church congregation in Breckenridge will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the church building during their regular service beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Texas State Technical College’s Breckenridge campus will be well represented at this spring’s 2026 SkillsUSA Texas Postsecondary Leadership and Skills Conference.
The Breckenridge Buckaroos baseball team and Lady Bucks softball team have each opened up their district schedules this month, heading into the meat of their schedules with playoff hopes still alive.
Alamo historian Kolby Lanham will introduce the movie by speaking and showing stills from the film coupled with images of historical documents, artifacts and photographs, to provide a historical analysis of the movie.
Gospel music fans will have an opportunity to hear a nationally known group later this month when Ernie Couch & Revival comes to Breckenridge.

Vera Lavone Baird, 94, of Tatum, New Mexico, passed away on March 11. Her funeral service at Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home will be held on March 18, beginning at 10 a.m.;
