Austin R. Kelly, 2016 graduate of Breckenridge High School, has officially announced his candidacy for Texas Agriculture Commissioner in the 2026 election.




The 90th Judicial District Attorney’s Office has announced the following lists of cases that were pleaded in January 2026.

The Breckenridge Police Department took Shane Anthony, 47, into custody this evening, Jan. 27, in connection with the death of Chyra Davis, whose body was found earlier today at a residence in Breckenridge.


Gary Ernest, age 79, of Owasso, Oklahoma, formerly of Breckenridge, passed away, Sunday, February 1, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 7, at St. Andrew’s
