Breckenridge High School senior Kason Burchett was named the Texas FFA Plant ID State Champion at Saturday’s contest in Lubbock, and the Breckenridge Plant ID team placed seventh in the state.

The Stephens County Commissioners Court accepted the resignation of Constable Brian McBride on Monday, May 4, and moved to appoint Justin Shockley to fill the remainder of the term. McBride’s term expires on Dec. 31.
