The repair to a water line valve that crews worked on all day isn’t holding, and water service will not be restored to the community tonight, according to Breckenridge City Manager Cynthia Northrop.


As the water crisis in Breckenridge continues well into the second day, Raydon, Inc. was on site at the location of the broken valve and was working to get it replaced this evening.


Stephens Memorial Hospital and ResourceCare are closed today, due to the City of Breckenridge’s ongoing water problems.


Breckenridge Mayor Bob Sims has declared a state of emergency for the city of Breckenridge due to the ongoing water supply problems that started Tuesday, Dec. 9, when a contractor laying fiber optics lines hit a water main in downtown Breckenridge.
