Lady Buckaroos softball team heading to Bi-District series after clinching District Championship on Friday
The Breckenridge High School Lady Buckaroos softball team won their game against the Peaster Lady Greyhounds on Friday night, wrapping up the regular season as the District champions. It’s the Lady Bucks’ first softball district championship since 2001.
On Friday, April 19, the Lady Bucks beat the Lady Hounds 10-0 in the five-inning game, becoming the champions of 3A Region 1, District 8. Before the home game, the Buckaroo seniors were honored with a Senior Night ceremony.
With the win, the Lady Bucks finished the regular season with a 12-2 district record and will continue into the playoffs this week.
The Lady Bucks are scheduled to take on the Iowa Park High School Lady Hawks in the Bi-District Championship series on Thursday and Friday, April 25-26, and Saturday, if necessary. It will be a best-two-out-of-three series with the first game slated for 5 p.m. Thursday, April 25, at Graham’s high school softball facilities. Game Two will begin at 5 p.m. Friday, April 26. If a third game is necessary, it will be played on Saturday, April 27, in Graham.
The BHS Buckaroos baseball team also won their game against the Peaster Greyhounds on Friday night, 1-0. The Buckaroos will play their final home game of the regular season on Tuesday, April 23, against the Millsap High School Bulldogs. Senior Night activities are scheduled to begin at 6:50 p.m., followed by the game. The Buckaroos final district baseball game of the year will be Friday, April 26, against the Brock High School Eagles in Brock.
