On Saturday evening, as Ronnie Calsoncin’s family, friends and long-time customers gathered at Ernie’s Spanish Kitchen to celebrate the 50th anniversary of his family’s restaurant, Ronnie took a few minutes to sit down and talk about the milestone.

Jonathan Rangel, a Realtor with Keller Williams Brazos West, held a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce office on Tuesday, Sept. 30.


Phillip Gregory, 90th Judicial District Judge, ruled in favor of the City of Breckenridge this morning, Oct. 2, granting the City’s request for a default judgment against local businessman Greg Akers, who is also a City Commissioner, in a case involving a dispute over an agreement to build a fence for a proposed dog park.


The Breckenridge Elks Lodge #1480 presented a $4,000 grant to Dr. Goodall’s House/Virginia’s House in Breckenridge to help support foster children in the area.


Several Scouts of Breckenridge’s Troop 63 were at the Breckenridge Country Club recently, working on their Golf Merit Badge.


The election will include a proposed bond to build a new elementary school in Breckenridge, as well as 17 proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution.

In 2024, the Tolar Rattlers played spoiler for the Breckenridge High School homecoming game, handing them a 42-6 loss, and in this year’s matchup on Friday, Sept. 26, the Buckaroos returned the favor, winning 19-12 in Tolar’s homecoming game.
