Letter to the Editor: Lynn McCoy’s family carries on her Christmas traditions

Letter to the Editor: Lynn McCoy’s family carries on her Christmas traditions

Lynn McCoy, my momma, passed away November 6, 2024. Christmas was her favorite time of the year. She spoiled everyone she loved at this time of year. And she always made sure everyone had something they needed.

Missing her this Christmas season, her husband, my dad, wanted to do something special in her memory. Terry McCoy donated several house slippers to the local nursing home in town. We hope the residents of Villa Haven will enjoy the new slippers in memory of Lynn. Thank you Tate for helping Terry with the shopping part of getting it all together. Here is a picture of a very small portion of the shoes he bought and donated in Lynn’s memory. We will eventually get a bank account set in Lynn’s memory so people can donate throughout the year and he can use those funds to donate slippers every year in her memory.

To know Lynn Mccoy was to love Lynn. She would give the literal shirt off her back if she thought or knew you needed it more. She gave with love and good intentions never expecting anything in return. While our hearts sure are missing her this holiday Christmas season. Terry hopes to continue living through her and continuing her “giving” legacy.

Merry Christmas!
