The Breckenridge Ballerz, a local basketball team featuring kids going into the fourth and fifth grade this fall, participated in a tournament earlier this month and was named the Big Country Champions after remaining undefeated.

The team includes Bayler Baugh, Blaine Begeman, Bryce Biddison, Carder McClymond, Myles Russell, Brasen Shook, Dylan Waller and Kase Young and is coached by Turner Baugh.

At the Big Country Championship tournament, the Breckenridge Ballerz were 4-0, defeating the Showtime Steers 17-14 and 29-19, the Snyder Elite 39-9, and the Wall Hawks-Moorman 26-12.

They have competed in three tournaments this summer and have an overall 12-0 record, the coach said. They have played teams from Dallas, Wichita Falls, Abilene, Graham and Snyder.

Their next tournament will be Aug. 3-4 in Abilene.

Baugh said the team hopes to continue playing, as schedules allow, in the fall.
