Breckenridge 13U Little League team to play in state championship tournament this week
UPDATE: Although the Breckenridge team won their game on July 10 and went on to play two more games, Northside Suburban-San Antonio ended up winning the tournament.

Breckenridge’s Little League 13U Intermediate baseball team will play in the 2024 Texas West State Little League Championship Tournament in Abilene this week.
Their first game will begin at 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, at the Wylie Little League fields at Kirby Lake Park on the south side of Abilene. The games will be played on Field 3.
The team won the regular season championship with a record of 14-1. Then, they won the District-5 Championship, undefeated, as well as the Texas West Section-2 Championship, also undefeated.
“We are super proud of this group of kids, considering we are a small community that literally had only 14 kids to choose from for our 12-man All Star roster,” Head Coach Patrick Escalon said in an email.
In 2016, Escalon took his older son Jake’s 14U All Star team to the State Championship final game, losing to the eventual USA World Series champion Corpus Christi.

The 2024 Breckenridge Little League 13U Intermediate baseball team will play in the Texas West State Little League Tournament in Abilene at 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, at the Wylie Little League fields at Kirby Lake Park on the south side of Abilene.
