On Friday evening, the Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce hosted the annual Mingle & Jingle shopping event and the lighting of the City of Breckenridge’s community Christmas tree lighting ceremony, and on Wednesday, Dec. 8, the Chamber will sponsor a lighted Christmas parade through downtown.

Last week, when Breckenridge Rotary Club members Les and Sherry Strickland showed up at South Elementary to hand out dictionaries to the school’s third graders, they found a very enthusiastic audience.

The artwork of local artists will be on exhibit at the Breckenridge Fine Arts Center’s inaugural Local Artists’ Winter Exhibit on display from Saturday, Nov. 20, through January.

Although the temperatures have been feeling more like summer lately, Breckenridge is getting into the fall spirit with Halloween and Fall Festival activities scheduled throughout the community.

The Breckenridge Woman’s Forum recently enjoyed their first meeting of the year, which included a presentation about the U.S. Constitution by fifth graders from South Elementary.

Breckenridge’s First Christian Church, 100 E. Williams St., will hold an organ concert by Rudy A. Lucente, an internationally acclaimed organ designer and Wanamaker organist, at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23.

The Breckenridge Library has added several new books to its collection for local residents to check out.
