Breckenridge’s Jonell Filtration Inc. celebrated Valentine’s Day with a Valentine wreath decorating contest for its employees.
The wreaths will be donated to the local nursing home for decorations, said Michelle Funderburg. The winning department will receive a luncheon and trophy, she added.
The company started out with pumpkin-decorating and Christmas tree contests, and this is the first year for a Valentine wreath competition, Jonell employee Connie Dunham explained.
The top three wreaths were:
- First Place: Carbon Department
- Second Place: Sewing Department
- Third Place: Material Handling Department
The winning wreath was created with leftover scrap material from the work the employees do, said Candace Alford.
At the request of the Jonell staff, the Breckenridge Texan’s Tony Pilkington and Carla McKeown judged the contest.
