The Texas Department of Transportation plans to open the Hubbard Creek Lake bridge before Breckenridge schools reopen on Jan. 7, according to Stephens County Judge Michael Roach, who gave an update on the situation shortly before 5 this afternoon.
Stephens County Judge Michael Roach has issued a Disaster Declaration for Stephens County, effective Friday, Dec. 22, following the closure of the U.S. Highway 180 bridge over Hubbard Creek Lake, aka the “Mile-Long Bridge.”
The U.S. Highway 180 bridge over Hubbard Creek Reservoir, aka the “Mile-Long Bridge,” was shut down by the Texas Department of Transportation Friday evening, Dec. 22, due to damage to the bridge.
The bridge replacement project could take up to seven months.
Work on the U.S. Highway 183 North road project will resume no later than Monday, March 20.
Businesses may submit bids for the street maintenance contract.
