Contractor to start placing final layer of pavement on U.S. 180 East today
The Texas Department of Transportation’s contractor will be paving a portion of East U.S. Highway 180 (East Walker Street) in Breckenridge starting Monday morning, Oct. 7, through the end of the week. The paving will span from the end of the brick portion of Walker Street just east of downtown Breckenridge to approximately Graham Street.
According to Lisa Tipton, public information officer for the Brownwood District of TxDOT, the contractor will be to placing the final layer of pavement on the roadway.
The work will be done during school hours, Tipton said. Various lane closures and traffic shifts will occur during the road work. Drivers should allow additional time to get to their destinations and use caution when driving through the construction zone.
