Effective Saturday, May 16, 2026, the City of Breckenridge has rescinded the boil water notice that was issued on Wednesday, May 13, for the southeastern quadrant of Breckenridge due to a damaged water line. Click here to see the original notice.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the City of Breckenridge to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform water customers that due to the problem, water from the system needed to be boiled prior to consumption.

The City took the necessary corrective actions to restore adequate pressure, disinfectant levels, and/or bacteriological quality and has provided TCEQ with testing results indicating that the water no longer requires boiling.

For more information, call the City Offices at 254-559-8287.
