A clog at the City of Breckenridge’s wastewater treatment plant has led to a discharge of partially treated sewage into Gunsolus Creek just north of Breckenridge.

Effective today, Tuesday, Dec. 16, the City of Breckenridge has lifted the city-wide Boil Water Notice that was initially issued on Tuesday, Dec. 9, according to a notice issued shortly after noon today.
Following Thursday’s repairs to the water pipelines, the City of Breckenridge’s water system continues to pressurize today, although the process is moving slowly.
The repairs to the water valve between the City of Breckenridge’s water treatment plant and the water towers have been completed and are currently holding, according to City Manager Cynthia Northrop.
Crews continue to work today, Thursday, Dec. 11, on repairing the City of Breckenridge pipelines that have created a three-day water outage for the community; bottled water distribution continues at City Park.
