Downtown Breckenridge decorated for holidays; more Christmas activities scheduled for upcoming weeks

Breckenridge’s holiday activities will continue with the annual lighted Christmas parade through downtown Breckenridge on Saturday, Dec. 9, beginning at 6 p.m.

The official City of Breckenridge will soon have a new look after the City Commissioners approved a new logo at last week’s regular meeting.

On Halloween last week, the Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce, City of Breckenridge and Stephens County teamed up to offer a new activity downtown for local families.

The Breckenridge community will have a variety of activities planned for local families on Halloween, which will be Tuesday, Oct. 31.

Breckenridge officer was helping with traffic control while City workers did some sewer work when his truck was hit, according to those at the scene.

Citizens must have brush that they would like to be hauled off at curbside by Friday, Oct. 20. Any brush put at the curbside after Oct. 20, will not be removed.

The Chamber of Commerce’s annual Community-Wide Sidewalk and Garage Sale will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at locations throughout Breckenridge.

This week, four proposed logos were unveiled, and the City of Breckenridge has posted an online survey, asking the community to rank the logos.

Law enforcement agencies, along with other first responders and local organizations, gathered on Oct. 3 for National Night Out, hosted by the Breckenridge Police Department.
