As the City of Breckenridge’s Street Improvement Project gets underway, some intersections in the areas of the work will be closed temporarily, beginning Tuesday, Oct. 22, with the intersection at West Elliott and South Harvey.

The Texas Department of Transportation has announced a new potential start date for the work on the “Mile-Long Bridge” on U.S. Highway 180 over Hubbard Creek Lake, stating that the work is now scheduled to begin on the last day of this month.
Breckenridge and Stephens County are scheduled for additional repairs/road work by the Texas Department of Transportation with two separate projects beginning this week.
Stephens County will change the emergency notification system that lets local residents know about severe weather and other threatening situations.

Work on the U.S. Highway 183 North road project will resume no later than Monday, March 20.
Beginning Monday, July 19, drivers can expect to encounter lane closures and traffic shifts on U.S. Highway 183 North as a project gets underway to remove and replace the road surface along with several culverts, curb and gutters, sidewalks, and drive ways.
