The Stephens County Sheriff’s Office and the Office of Emergency Management are implementing plans in response to the temporary closure of the Hubbard Creek Lake Bridge on U.S. Highway 180 by the Texas Department of Transportation next week.

Beginning Monday, April 27, a contractor for the Texas Department of Transportation will close all lanes of the Hubbard Creek Reservoir Bridge — aka the “Mile-Long Bridge” — to perform routine bridge maintenance.
Beginning Wednesday, March 4, the Texas Department of Transportation’s contractor will begin routine maintenance work on and under the U.S. Highway 180 bridge over Hubbard Creek Reservoir.
The work on the bridge is scheduled to take place overnight from about 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily Sundays through Thursdays.
The Texas Department of Transportation has announced a new potential start date for the work on the “Mile-Long Bridge” on U.S. Highway 180 over Hubbard Creek Lake, stating that the work is now scheduled to begin on the last day of this month.
Beginning approximately Wednesday, June 12, the Texas Department of Transportation’s contractor will begin cleaning and sealing the joints of the U.S. Highway 180 bridge over Hubbard Creek Reservoir.
Breckenridge and Stephens County are scheduled for additional repairs/road work by the Texas Department of Transportation with two separate projects beginning this week.
