City of Breckenridge lifts Boil Water Notices issued this week

The City of Breckenridge has rescinded both Boil Water Notices that were issued earlier this week. The original notices were issued on Aug. 22 and Aug. 23; click here to see the original notices with maps.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the City of Breckenridge to issue the Boil Water Notices to inform water customers that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, water from the system needed to be boiled prior to consumption.

The City took the necessary corrective actions to restore adequate pressure, disinfectant levels, and/or bacteriological quality and has provided TCEQ with testing results indicating that the water no longer requires boiling.

The Aug. 22 notice was for South Harding Street, and the Aug. 23 notice was for the area bounded by Rose Street south of Dallas Street, West and East Cottage, South Cutting from Cottage south to Aberdeen and Rose/ U.S. Highway 183, and included West and East Powers, East Valley, and East Parrish Street.
