City of Breckenridge issues several boil water notices

The City of Breckenridge’s Public Works Director has issued several Boil Water Notices this week:

  • All of 1200 West Walker Street and 1200 West Williams Street, 100-400 South Pecan, and the 1100 and 1200 blocks of West Wheeler and West Hullum, effective March 24, (Rescinded on March 28)
  • All of Mistletoe, Sycamore, Cypress, Renee, Glenwood Circle, Hunters Glenn, Robins Nest, North Harding, Scenic Drive, effective March 24, (Rescinded on March 28)
  • All of Ridge Road, Sha Lane, Yucca, and Sage, effective March 23. (Rescinded on March 27)

Due to conditions in the water system which have occurred (water line breaks), the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the City to notify all customers within the affected area to boil their water prior to consumption. To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source.

The Boil Water Notice will be in effect for a minimum of 48 hours. When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, water system officials will notify each customer directly in the affected area.

For more information, call the City Offices at 254-559-8287 or the Water Office at 254-559-7249.
