The Breckenridge Buckaroos started the district 3-3A portion of their varsity football season Friday evening, Oct. 11, by hosting the Clyde Bulldogs at Buckaroo Stadium.

After a disappointing start to the season, the Breckenridge Buckaroos varsity football team gets a chance for a reset as they start the 2024 district 3-3A campaign tonight against the Clyde Bulldogs at Buckaroo Stadium.
On a night and week filled with homecoming festivities, the Breckenridge Buckaroos varsity football team looked to gain their first win of the 2024 season Friday night as they hosted the Tolar Rattlers. However, knocking off a 2023 state finalist team was too tall of a task, and the Buckaroos ultimately fell to the Rattlers 42-6.
Cabel Perkins and Ayden Williamson were crowned as the 2024 Breckenridge High School Homecoming Queen and Homecoming King in a ceremony before the start of tonight’s football game.
The community-wide 2024 Breckenridge High School Homecoming events kicked off Wednesday evening with a parade and bonfire. Activities will continue today with a pep rally at noon and the football game at 7 p.m.
The Breckenridge Buckaroos varsity football team will head into next week’s Homecoming game still looking for their first win of the season, following Friday night’s shutout in Eastland.
Although the Buckaroos showed signs of improvement Friday night, ultimately it was the Loboes who walked away with a 30-20 win in Cisco.
The Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce’s annual Johnny Bates Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament will tee off at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Breckenridge Country Club.
The Buckaroos lost to the Childress Bobcats 35-7 in the first home game of the 2024 season.
The Breckenridge Buckaroos started their 2024 season Friday evening on the road in Holliday as they faced the No. 8 (Class 3A Div. II) state-ranked Holliday Eagles.
