The Breckenridge Buckaroos varsity football team will travel to Comanche today, Friday, Aug. 28, to take on the Comanche High School Indians in the first game of the 2026 season.
Breckenridge High School’s 2026 Homecoming is scheduled for the first home game of the season on Sept. 4.
The scrimmage is part of the statewide “Our Day to Shine” program.
The public is invited to attend the preseason scrimmage, which is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
Community members are invited to walk, run, lunge, jump, crawl and roll for a cause during the upcoming Impossible Mile Fundraiser. The event, which benefits local seniors through Meals on Wheels, is scheduled for Saturday, May 9.
Breckenridge’s powerlifting program will once again be well-represented on the state stage, as the Buckaroos and Lady Bucks combined to qualify 11 lifters for the upcoming state meets – matching the program’s totals from a year ago despite graduating several top performers.
The Breckenridge Buckaroos baseball team and Lady Bucks softball team have each opened up their district schedules this month, heading into the meat of their schedules with playoff hopes still alive.
