Breckenridge High School will host two summer basketball camps this month, offering skill development and competitive play for incoming first through ninth grade students.

The Buckaroo Basketball Camp is scheduled for June 9–11 at the Breckenridge ISD Athletic Center (main gym and auxiliary gym). The camp will feature two sessions: Session 1 from 9:15 to 11:15 a.m. for incoming first through fourth graders, and Session 2 from 1 to 3 p.m. for incoming fifth through ninth graders.

Campers will receive instruction on fundamental ball handling, dribbling, passing, shooting techniques, and both offensive and defensive skills. Daily competitions in layups, jump shots, set shots, free throws, and a “hot shot” contest will also take place, culminating in a team competition on the final day.

The cost of the camp is $40 per camper. Families with two or more participants will receive a discounted rate of $30 for additional campers; for example, if two students from the same family register, the price will be $70. Cash, check, or Venmo payments are accepted, and checks should be made payable to Brent Lucas (Breckenridge Basketball Camp). A registration form and payment must be submitted, including the camper’s name, upcoming grade level for fall 2025, and t-shirt size; the form can be found on the Breckenridge Buckaroo Athletics Facebook page.

A Lady Bucks Basketball Camp will be held June 27 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at main gym for incoming seventh and eighth grade girls. The $40 registration includes a day of basketball skills training, scrimmages and lunch. Skills sessions will run from 10 a.m. to noon, followed by lunch and an afternoon scrimmage from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Payments can be made via cash, check, or Venmo to @Sidnee-Martinez34.
