The workshop will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, at St. Paul Methodist Church’s Pendleton Fellowship Hall, 1504 E. Elm St. in Breckenridge.
Visitors to the Breckenridge Fine Arts Center can see the first western art exhibit the gallery has had in at least six years. The exhibit, which features the work of a group of artists from north Texas, will be on display through Feb. 8.
From 1950 through the late 1970s, Breckenridge offered entertainment in the form of movies at a couple of drive-in theaters on the west side of town. But, back in its earlier days, the city was home to several movie theaters, including the National Theatre, which has since been restored to its former glory.
With Breckenridge’s National Theatre stage set for a casual atmosphere, four area musicians treated a near-capacity crowd to a concert featuring their original and/or favorite tunes on Saturday night, Jan. 13.
On Saturday, Jan. 13, the National Theatre of Breckenridge will continue its 2023-24 Performance Series with a Singer/Songwriter Song Swap featuring Kyle Fambro, Finis Smith, Jared McLane and Ransom Rhodes.

In the days leading up to Christmas Day, there have been many holiday activities going on around Breckenridge.

Breckenridge once had a very active Jewish community, with as many as 83 members by 1930. In 1929, they built a Jewish synagogue, Temple Beth Israel, located at 302 N. Parks St.
