Breckenridge Texan

On Saturday night, Jan. 27, Breckenridge High School students and their families and friends, along with teachers and school staff members, gathered in Bailey Auditorium for the school’s 99th Coronation. Chloe Whitmire was crowned the 2024 Buckaroo Queen by Great Lord Chamberlain Riyaj Neupane, surrounded by the Royal Court.

The ceremony featured the theme “A Spellbound Soiree.” The Royal Court entered to “March of Aida,” and Chloe’s entrance was to “Trumpet Voluntary.”

The Master of Ceremonies was Robert Burchett, and the entertainment was provided by:

• Jared McLane and Cabel Perkins — “Mine All Mine”
• BYC Cheer
• Cabel Perkins and Preslie Malcuit — “Hold on to Me”
• Blast Dance — “Dancing Queen”
• Cabel Perkins and Kamryn Briley — “Make You Feel My Love”

Included in the Royal Court were BHS class favorites, the homecoming court and each student organization’s sweethearts and beaus.

The Head Usher was Carlee Stewart. The ushers were Jonathan Guillen, Jenna Stewart, Tim Newell, Giselle Reyes, Bry Armstrong, Raegan Robinson, Hudson Woodward and Collom Perkins.

The Light and Sound Technician was Cassie Johnson, and the Coronation Directors were Krista Wilcox and Leah Robertson. The event was sponsored by The Woman’s Forum and The White Orchid Floral & Events. Following the formal ceremony, the Royal Court reassembled on the stage for photos by Photography and Media Director Calvin Best.

In the entertainment portion, the BYC Cheer team included Dylan Fisher, Marianna Martinez, Elise Jones, Aniyah Flores, Zoie Middleton, Maleya Willis, Anabella Canales, Thea Trammel, Shaeli Arquitte and Jazmine Jimenez. The choreography was by Aby Ly (Lee), and the coaches were Karla Stewart, Sarah Rodriquez and Tiffany Flores with junior coaches Shyann Wickson and Aalyiah Salazar. The Blast Dance team included Elsie Freeman, Rylee Miller, Sofia Ramirez, Taylen Hill, Britta Miller, Isabelle Boland and Delilah Trammel. The instructor was Alycia Duran.
