City of Breckenridge lifts Boil Water Notice issued on Thursday

At 11:45 a.m. today, Saturday, Aug. 2, the City of Breckenridge rescinded the Boil Water Notice issued earlier this week for the entire city.
On Thursday, July 31, City Manager Cynthia Northrop reported that a contractor hit a six-inch water line on East Walker Street, near the intersection at South Easton Street and both water towers were drained. The issue led to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality requiring that the City of Breckenridge issue a Boil Water Notice to inform the community that the water from the public water system needed to be boiled prior to use.
The City of Breckenridge repaired the busted water main, restored the quality of the water distributed by the public water system and provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling as of Aug. 2, according to a notice issued by City Manager Cynthia Northrop.
