One person injured in wreck that landed vehicle in City Park

One person was injured in a two-vehicle wreck Tuesday evening, June 4, at the Breckenridge City Park.
A few minutes after 5 p.m., an east-bound Honda SUV veered off of East Walker Street, traveled down the slight embankment and hit a short rock wall/planter on the north side of the park, following an apparent collision with a tractor-trailer (semi-truck) that was also traveling east.
“Based on our investigation, what it looks like is that the truck was driving in the right lane and … the passenger car, looks like she didn’t see the truck and she ended up moving into his lane. Upon impact, she lost control the vehicle went up over the curb and went into the park and came to rest in the tree planter,” said Breckenridge Police Chief Blake Johnson, who was on the scene shortly after the wreck.
The driver of the Honda was transported to Stephens Memorial Hospital with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries, Johnson said.
The Breckenridge Police Department, Breckenridge Fire Department, Stephens County Sheriff’s Office, Sacred Cross EMS and the Stephens County Constable responded to the scene.
