Pickup collides with BPD vehicle while officer assists with traffic control on West Walker tonight
Emergency officials responded to the scene of a three-vehicle wreck in the 1000 block of West Walker Street on Wednesday night, Oct. 25. The crash involved a Breckenridge Police Department vehicle that was stopped as the officer assisted City of Breckenridge workers with traffic control while they were working on a sewer line in the area, according to emergency workers on the scene.
While the officer was out of his vehicle, a Ford pickup crashed into the back of the police car, pushing it into a City truck, those at the scene said. The BPD vehicle received damage to both the rear and front ends; the Ford pickup sustained extensive damage to its front end; and, the City truck had damage to the rear bumper.
The driver and a passenger from the pickup were being treated at the scene by Sacred Cross EMS personnel; the nature of their injuries was not disclosed by anyone at the scene. No one else was injured.
The Breckenridge Fire Department also responded to the scene, and the Department of Public Safety is investigating the wreck.
