City-wide Boil Water Notice lifted

City-wide Boil Water Notice lifted
October 05
11:25 2023

Effective Thursday, Oct. 5, the City of Breckenridge has rescinded the Boil Water Notice that was issued earlier this week for the entire city of Breckenridge. The original notice was issued on Oct. 3 following a water line break on West Fourth Street.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the City of Breckenridge to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform water customers that due to the interruption in service, water from the system needed to be boiled prior to consumption.

The City took the necessary corrective actions to restore adequate pressure, disinfectant levels, and/or bacteriological quality and has provided TCEQ with testing results indicating that the water no longer requires boiling.

For more information, call the City Offices at 254-559-8287 or the Water Office at 254-559-7249.
