Several blocks in north-central Breckenridge may be without water this evening, April 5, and the entire city is under a Boil Water Notice as city crews work to repair a busted waterline. Additionally, all other residents in the city may experience low water pressure.

According to the City’s Facebook page, a waterline at West Fourth and North Payne streets was damaged Wednesday afternoon.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the City to notify all customers within the affected area to boil their water prior to consumption. To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source.

The Boil Water Notice will be in effect for a minimum of 48 hours. When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, water system officials will notify each customer directly in the affected area.

For more information, call the City Offices at 254-559-8287 or the Water Office at 254-559-7249.

Although the entire city is under a Boil Water Notice, residents in the area marked in read on the above map may be without water until the damaged line is repaired. Other city residents may experience low water pressure.
