School has been out for just a month, but it’s already time to start thinking about the upcoming school year, which will begin in Breckenridge on Thursday, Aug. 15.

Breckenridge Independent School District has issued the school supply lists for the elementary schools and the junior high. Click on the links below for the lists for each school. East Elementary has the lists for Pre-K through first grade; North Elementary has the lists for second and third grades; South Elementary has the lists for fourth through sixth grades; and BJHS has the lists for seventh and eighth grades.

The lists can be printed or downloaded into your computer or phone for your convenience.

Here are some upcoming important dates regarding the new school year:

• July 22 — New student and returning student registration opens for all BISD schools. The parents/guardians of students who will be new to the district, will need to go online to the BISD website (http://www.breckenridgeisd.org) and go to the “Parents and Students” section. From the drop-down menu, choose “New Student Enrollment 2019-2020” and follow the steps there. Returning students — students who were in BISD schools this past year — will need to be pre-registered through the “Skyward Family Access Page,” which is also under the “Parents and Students” section. • Aug. 2 — East Elementary new student registration, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., in the cafeteria.
• Aug. 9-11 — Sales Tax Holiday for most clothing, footwear, school supplies and backpacks (sold for less than $100). More details to come.
• Aug. 13 — South Elementary’s Meet the Teacher, 1-6 p.m.
• Aug. 15 — First day of school for Breckenridge
• Aug. 16 — First Buckaroo varsity football scrimmage vs. Vernon, Buckaroo Stadium
• Aug. 22 — Buckaroo varsity football scrimmage vs. Holliday at Eagle Stadium
• Aug. 30 — First Buckaroo varsity football game vs. Jacksboro, Buckaroo Stadium
