The City of Breckenridge issued notices on Friday afternoon, Dec. 7, rescinding the boil water notices issued last week and enacting two new boil water notices, effective immediately.

The rescinded notice was issued on Nov. 29 and affected the area from North Parks to North Pecan Street, from West Elm to the northern end of system. The boil water notice affecting the area on the south side of 1235 East Highway 180 to 1851 East Highway 180, Melrose, Newton, Lowell to Elliot, also was rescinded.

The two new notices are for:

  • 13-17 Chaparral Lane, all of Friar Tuck, and London Circle
  • the 400-800 blocks of North Parks Street

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source.

The Boil Water Notice will be in effect for a minimum of 48 hours. When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, water system officials will notify each customer directly in the affected area.

For more information, call the City Offices at 254-559-8287 or the Water Office at 254-559- 7249.
