Local law enforcement, first responders and other community agencies came together Tuesday night, Oct. 2, for Breckenridge’s seventh annual National Night Out.

The area around the Stephens County Law Enforcement Center was filled with local residents of all ages who stopped by the event to get a close-up view of police cars, sheriff’s department pickups, fire trucks, ambulances and a helicopter from Air Evac. The Breckenridge Police Department hosted the event and provided services such as Child ID/fingerprinting for parents. Also participating were the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office, Sacred Cross EMS, the Breckenridge Fire Department and other law enforcement and community agencies and organizations

Additionally, there were free hot dogs, sausage-on-a-stick and other refreshments, as well as face painting and other kid-friendly activities.

NNO is a national community event that focuses on growing the partnership between law enforcement and the community in the fight against crime. Most other states celebrate NNO in August, but Texas celebrates in October due to the heat.
