The Stephens Regional Special Utility District has issued a Boil Water Notice for all customers of the rural water district. The boil water notice does not apply to City of Breckenridge water system customers or other rural water system customers.

Stephens Regional Special Utility District has issued a Boil Water Notice for their customers located on U.S. Highway 183 South, Farm to Market Roads 2231, 3099, 1032, 576 West and the first 2.75 miles of FM 576 East from the Highway 183 Intersection; the notice includes all adjacent county roads.

The Boil Water Notice is for SRSUD rural water customers in the southeastern portion of the county, specifically those on FM 207 and FM 576 East beginning 2 miles east of the Highway 183 intersection, and on FM 1852, including all adjacent Stephens County roads.

Stephens Regional Special Utility District’s Water Treatment Plant Operator James “Kelvin” Nickell has been named the Small Plant Operator of the Year by the Southwest Membrane Operator Association.

UPDATE: This Boil Water Notice was rescinded by the SRSUD on Friday, Nov. 3, 2023. The Boil Water Notice was required after a loss of pressure as a result of a power outage that occurred at approximately 5:30 pm on Oct. 31.
