Last month, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced that, since he signed an update of the state’s election laws in 2021, the state has removed about one million people from the voter rolls, a process which is ongoing.

There are six weeks left for Texas citizens to register to vote before the Nov. 5 General Election.
Anyone who wants to vote by mail in the upcoming Primary Election must apply for a Ballot By Mail by Feb. 23, and anyone who plans to vote in the Primary Election must be registered to vote by Feb. 5.
Early voting starts on April 24, and Election Day will be May 6.
The deadline to register to vote in the upcoming primary election is Monday, Jan. 31.
