The Texas Department of Transportation has announced a new potential start date for the work on the “Mile-Long Bridge” on U.S. Highway 180 over Hubbard Creek Lake, stating that the work is now scheduled to begin on the last day of this month.

Beginning approximately Wednesday, June 12, the Texas Department of Transportation’s contractor will begin cleaning and sealing the joints of the U.S. Highway 180 bridge over Hubbard Creek Reservoir.

The U.S. Highway 180 bridge over Hubbard Creek Reservoir, aka the “Mile-Long Bridge,” was shut down by the Texas Department of Transportation Friday evening, Dec. 22, due to damage to the bridge.
The application for a wastewater permit by the Peninsula RV Resort was withdrawn by the applicant on Sept. 14.
Local emergency responders recovered the body of an apparent drowning victim at Hubbard Creek Reservoir this evening, Wednesday, Sept. 20.
The TCEQ notice states that a public meeting will be held, but a date has not been made public.
The date and location of the meeting have not been determined yet.
