Although the Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce has had to cancel this year’s Boomfest Independence Day show due to limited funding, those interested in celebrating the Fourth of July with a fireworks show have several opportunities to be entertained.

For Kristin Walling, working in a fireworks stand is something she’s been doing since she was 5 years old. Now, she using the experience of owning and operating her own stand to teach her kids, who are helping her run the stand this year, about working with money and running a business.
As citizens across the country celebrate the 248th birthday of the United States of America, local residents can enjoy two free fireworks shows — one on July 4 and one on July 5.
The seventh annual Salute in the Salt Flats Fireworks Show is being provided by the Rail A Ranch, Canyon Road Barn and Grill, and a lot of donors, on Tuesday, July 4.
Boomfest will be July 1, and Salute in the Salt Flats will be July 4.
