Shockley sworn in as Stephens County Constable
Justin Shockley was sworn in as the Stephens County Constable on Monday, May 18, by County Judge Will Thompson in the district courtroom.
Earlier this month, the Stephens County Commissioners Court accepted the resignation of Constable Brian McBride and appointed Shockley to fill the remainder of the term.
McBride’s term was set to expire on Dec. 31.
Shockley won the Republican Primary in March, becoming the Republican nominee for the general election in November. There were no candidates for constable in the Democratic primary; write-in candidates may file a declaration of write-in candidacy between July 18 and August 17.

Several of his Breckenridge Police Department co-workers were on-hand Monday morning to watch Justin Shockley get sworn in as the new Stephens County Constable.
