Deputy Randy Hooks with the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office celebrated 40 years as a law enforcement officer last week with family, friends and co-workers.
Hooks, who joined the local Sheriff’s Office in March, was born and raised in Stephenville. After graduating from the police academy, he went to work in Comanche and then Dalhart. Through the years, he has served as the police chief in Stinnett, Valley Mills and Stratford. He also has been a deputy in Archer, Hartley and Eastland counties.
Earlier this year, Hooks and his wife, Mary Barrington Hooks, moved to Stephens County to be closer to family. He has five daughters, 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
