Breckenridge gets fired up for tonight’s Homecoming game with parade, pep rally; Cam Escalon named Homecoming King

In generating spirit for tonight’s high school Homecoming football game against the Eastland Mavericks, the Breckenridge community has celebrated this week with a parade on Wednesday and a pep rally at noon today. At the pep rally, Buckaroo quarterback Camden Escalon was named the 2023 Homecoming King.

This year’s Breckenridge High School Homecoming Queen will be announced during the half-time of tonight’s football game.

The 2023 BHS Homecoming Court includes:

Cam Escalon 2023 BHS Homecoming King

Senior Court:

  • Haylie Mendoza and Camden Escalon
  • Karter Smalley and Cora Roan
  • Bryson Herring and Emma Williams
  • Ashton Reyes and Taryn Russell
  • Braye Cantrell and Emily Gooch
  • Angel Hernandez and Jerry Youngblood

Junior Princess and Prince:

  • Miley Roberts and Isaac Hernandez-Pina

Sophomore Princess and Prince:

  • Lane Bartoskewitz and Jaime Cruz

Freshman Princess and Prince:

  • Hayden Mendoza and Kadynce Kennedy

The game is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. tonight, Friday, Sept. 15.

Wednesday’s Homecoming Parade through downtown Breckenridge had the theme of “We Choose to Be Buckaroos.” The parade featured 54 floats, including the Homecoming Court and other honored students.
