BHS Cheerleaders seeking food trucks for pep rallies; Homecoming activities scheduled for this week
The Breckenridge High School Cheerleaders are looking for vendors and food trucks to set up at upcoming pep rallies.
Because of the school district’s four-day school week schedule, pep rallies are different this year, being held for home games only. The Homecoming pep rally, scheduled for noon Friday, Sept. 15, will be at the BHS athletic facility/gym, and the remaining three will be held downtown at the Stephens County Courthouse.
To add a little more excitement to the pep rallies for the community, vendors and food trucks will be allowed at no charge. At their Sept. 5 meeting, the Breckenridge City Commission approved a request to allow the food trucks in downtown during the pep rallies.
The plan is to have the food trucks set up on Elm Street behind the courthouse during the downtown pep rallies.

Homecoming Activities
The 2023 Breckenridge High School Homecoming football game is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 15, against the Eastland Mavericks. A variety of events are planned in conjunction with the game this week.
On Wednesday evening, the Homecoming Parade will be held in downtown Breckenridge. The parade, organized by the BISD All-Sports Booster Club, is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. and includes 47 float entries. The parade route will be down Walker Street, from Miller to Court Street.
At noon on Friday, the Homecoming Pep Rally will take place in the Breckenridge Athletic Facility (aka main gym) at noon. During the pep rally, the 2023 Homecoming King will be announced.
The Homecoming Game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. in Buckaroo Stadium. Homecoming activities, including the crowning of the 2023 Homecoming Queen, will be held during half-time.
