18:57 2023

The City of Breckenridge has declared a Boil Water Notice effective Wednesday, March 1, 2023, for several blocks in the north-central portion of the city.

The notice is for the area from North Rose Avenue to North Parks Street and from West Second Street to West Lindsey Street, including Breckenridge High School and Junior High. See the map below for more details.

Due conditions in the water system which have occurred (water outage), the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the City to notify all customers within the affected area to boil their water prior to consumption. To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source.

The Boil Water Notice will be in effect for a minimum of 48 hours. When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, water system officials will notify each customer directly in the affected area.

For more information, call the City Offices at 254-559-8287 or the Water Office at 254-559-7249.
