Due to staffing issues, the City of Breckenridge’s Convenience Station will have limited hours of operation for at least the next two weeks, according to City Manager Cynthia Northrop.

The Convenience Station will be open the following hours in upcoming days:

  • Friday and Saturday, Dec. 30-31, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Friday and Saturday, Jan. 6-7, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The convenience station, which is located on the Industrial Loop, is normally open five days a week to help serve local residents with all their needs to dump normal household trash and bulk items. City of Breckenridge residents who pay a water bill are eligible to take one free load of trash/bulk items to the convenience station (dump) each month. Each trash load will be limited to a pickup truck and a bumper-pull trailer per month. For more details, click here to read a previous article about the service.

Additional household bagged trash and bulk items can been disposed of for a fee. The City accepts checks and credit cards for the fees.

The normal hours of operation are:

  • Tuesday – 1-5 p.m.
  • Wednesday – 1-5 p.m.
  • Thursday – 1-5 p.m.
  • Friday – 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Saturday – 9 a.m-5 p.m.

The Breckenridge Texan is in the midst of our annual fundraising campaign with the national organization NewsMatch, and we still need $1,500 to reach our goal this year. Donations made through the end of December will be matched, dollar-for-dollar, by NewsMatch, and, if we meet our goal of $4,000 raised, we’ll get an additional match. That will triple every donation given to the Breckenridge Texan. The Breckenridge Texan is a non-profit news website covering Stephens County and Breckenridge, Texas, that depends on donations, as well as advertising, to continue our work.
