It’s Bunco Bonanza time again! Fundraiser to benefit Stephens Memorial Hospital Auxiliary projects

The Stephens Memorial Hospital Auxiliary — aka the Pink Ladies — will host their annual Bunco Bonanza, and tickets are limited.

The city-wide fundraiser will take place at Chandelier Ridge, 5470 U.S. Highway 183 South, on Tuesday, Sept. 13. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and bunco games will begin at 6 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to shop for some $5 gift bags and have a light meal before the games begin.

The registration deadline is Sept. 6, and tickets cost $25 per person. Seating is limited, so tickets will be on a first-paid, first-reserved basis. Tickets are available at the SMH gift shop, located inside the hospital at 200 S. Geneva St., from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. Tickets can also be purchased by calling Suzanne Malcuit at 254-559-0004.

Tables of 12 are available for bunco groups, keno groups or any other games groups that would like to play together. But, you don’t need to fill a table of 12. The Pink Ladies can put you with a table that has an open spot, or if you know someone who is coming and you want to sit with them, just tell the auxiliary member when you buy your ticket(s).

Light snacks will be provided, but attendees are encouraged to bring snacks for their own table, as well.

All “Buncos” will receive a ticket to put in the jar of one of the prizes that will be given away in the drawings. Each table has guaranteed winners.

The SMH Auxiliary will use the funds raised at the event for projects at the hospital. Last year’s Bunco Bonanza allowed the Pink Ladies to furnish the hospital waiting room, refurnish the hospital cafeteria, provide a nursing scholarship to a TSTC student, provide Christmas bags to Meals on Wheels and Senior Meals, provide Christmas bags for the nursing home residents, assist in funding the summer lunch program, and donate to the Sunday Supply Bags program.

This year, they hope to purchase updated hospital equipment, refurbish another hospital patient room, as well as continue to provide assistance to the community programs.
