Stephens Regional SUD lifts Boil Water Notice for rural water customers

Stephens Regional Special Utility District has lifted the Boil Water Notice that was issued last month when an area-wide power outage resulted in a loss of pressure in the system. After testing by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), the water has been deemed safe for consumption.

On February 15, 2021, the TCEQ, required Stephens Regional SUD, PWS 2150007 to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals, or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

The public water system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by the public water system used for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of March 2, 2021.

For more information concerning the matter, contact Gary Brockman, Field Operations Manager, at 254-212-9980 or Kelvin Nickell, Water Plant Operator, at 254-488-2333. The District’s office is located at 206 FM 3099, Breckenridge, TX 76424, 254-559-6180.
