Breckenridge’s East Elementary and South Elementary schools will hold Meet the Teacher events today, Monday, Aug. 17. With COVID-19 precautions in place, the activities will be a little different than they have been in the past. The first day of school will be Wednesday, Aug. 19.

East Elementary Meet the Teacher

East Elementary’s Meet the Teacher and Kinder Tour for students in Early Childhood, Head Start, Pre-K, Kindergarten, First Grade and Second Grade, and their parents will be from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the school, 1310 E. Elm St. Families who intend to use the remote learning option for schooling and who need a Chromebook for their student, may pick those up during the Meet the Teacher event.

Masks will be required for adults, and to enable social distancing, families are asked to attend at specific times, depending on their last name:

1:30-2:30 — A-F
2:30-3:30 — G-K
3:30-4:30 — L-P
4:30-5:30 — Q-U
5:30-6:30 — V-Z

Kindergarten students will also be given a tour of the school during their visits.

South Elementary Meet the Teacher

South Elementary’s Meet the Teacher for students in Third, Fourth and Fifth grades, and their parents will be from 1:30 to 6 p.m. at the school, 1001 W. Elliott St.

Parents must sign up for an appointment (see links below) with their child’s grade level to reserve a spot to meet the teacher. The school will limit traffic, so an appointment helps keep all families safe. Families that will need to checkout a Chromebook for a child who is remote learning, also need to sign up for an appointment to pick it up; the Chromebooks are not grade-specific and are first come, first served.
