Jailed Breckenridge man served with additional warrant for previous sexual assault

A 26-year-old man who was in the Stephens County Jail on a child pornography charge was served with a new warrant about two weeks ago for the offense of Sexual Assault, a second degree felony, following a continued investigation into his actions.
John Nored of Breckenridge was originally arrested on April 30, following an investigation by the Abilene Police Department Cyber Crimes, the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations. He is accused of and allegedly confessed to downloading and uploading child pornography through the internet. He is also accused of producing child pornography by making a video of an underage female without her consent. Numerous pieces of electronic evidence were seized at the home where he was arrested, the police reported.
According to a complaint that was filed with Stephens County Justice of the Peace Steve Spoon by Sheriff Will Holt on June 11, during the initial interrogation, Nored confessed to having sex with an underage female in November 2018. The complaint makes it clear that there are two victims, the one in the video and the one referenced in the latest charges.
Investigators located the girl and interviewed her about the incident. She admitted that it happened and said that it was consensual.
“We explained to her that because she is underage, she should never have been put into that situation by any adult, to make such a choice, including by Nored, who was 25 years old at the time,” Holt wrote in the complaint.
Based on the continued investigation, the new warrant was served on Nored on July 23. He remains in jail with a bond of $50,000 set for the new offense.
