The Texas Department of Public Safety announced Friday, Oct. 11, that a 14-year-old murder case in Stephens County has been solved.

Four people were hospitalized, including a Breckenridge Police Department sergeant, following a high-speed chase that started Wednesday night in west Shackelford County and ended with a crash in the midst of the construction zone on Breckenridge’s Walker Street.
Shayden Ramsey, 22, was killed in a two-vehicle crash in the 3800 block of U.S. Highway 180 West (West Walker Street), in front of Walmart.

The two men were arrested in Breckenridge on July 5, 2023.
The men were arrested by the Texas DPS-CID after being interviewed at the Stephens County Law Enforcement Center.
On Tuesday, Oct. 4, the Breckenridge Police Department will host the annual National Night Out event in Breckenridge at the Stephens County Law Enforcement Center, 210 E. Dyer St.
