City of Breckenridge rescinds Boil Water Notice for eastern portion of water system

Effective Friday, July 17, the City of Breckenridge has rescinded a boil water notice that was issued earlier this week. The original notice, effective July 13, was for the far north and south ends of the system from Butte Street to the far east end of the system.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the City of Breckenridge to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform water customers that due to the interruption in service, water from the  system needed to be boiled prior to consumption.

The City took the necessary corrective actions to restore adequate pressure, disinfectant levels, and/or bacteriological quality and has provided TCEQ with testing results indicating that the water no longer requires boiling.

For more information, call the City Offices at 254-559-8287 or the Water Office at 254-559-7249.
