Editor’s Note: The weekly Emergency Dispatch Report for Breckenridge and Stephens County is a new feature of the Breckenridge Texan. The report is compiled from the Daily Logs of the local 9-1-1 dispatchers. It includes local calls involving the Breckenridge Police Department, the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office, the Breckenridge Fire Department, the AMR ambulance service and other entities in the area.

  • An Breckenridge Police Department officer pulled over a reckless driver on West Walker Street at 1:47 a.m.
  • A Stephens County Sheriff’s deputy performed a welfare check near the campgrounds at Hubbard Creek Lake at 3:24 a.m.
  • The Breckenridge Fire Department responded to a grass fire on FM 701 at 7:35 a.m.
  • An officer performed a warrant arrest in the 700 block of West Lindsey Street at 7:58 a.m.
  • The Sheriff’s Office was notified of loose livestock on Highway 67 near FM 1800 at 9:20 a.m.
  • The BFD responded to a smoking pump jack in the 300 block of West Elm Street at 9:54 a.m.
  • An ambulance was requested in the 100 block of Shirley Court at 10:27 a.m.
  • A suspect was caught trespassing at the Law Enforcement Center at 11:00 a.m.

  • Officers were notified after a resident was bit by an animal near the 200 block of South Geneva Street at 8:49 p.m.
  • Officers at the Law Enforcement Center were notified of a possible disturbance at 9:05 p.m.
  • The Game Warden responded to a deer hit by a vehicle on Highway 67 just South of FM 1800 at 9:05 p.m.
  • A suspicious item was found near the 800 block of East Williams Street at 9:48 p.m.
  • Police were requested for close patrol near the 100 block of Shirley Court at 9:59 p.m.
  • Medics responded to a call near the 4200 block of CR 201 at 10:11 p.m.
  • An officers responded to a report of an open door near the 1000 block of West Elliot Street at 10:50 p.m.
  • At 11:18 p.m, medics were requested near the 5300 block of U.S. Highway 180 West.

  • In the 200 block of South Geneva Street, a deputy provided a courtesy transport to a subject brought in by medics at 2:57 a.m.
  • Officers were notified of suspicious activity in the 500 block of West Fifth Street at 3:07 a.m.
  • Suspicious activity was reported near the 6900 block of U.S. Highway 180 West at 3:20 a.m.
  • Officers responded to a disturbance near the area of South Cottage Street at 3:32 a.m.
  • An officer conducted a field interview near the 300 block of West Second Street at 3:34 a.m.
  • Emergency Medical Services were requested in the 4900 block of CR 201 at 3:58 a.m.
  • Emergency Medical Services were requested in the 300 block of South Lowell Avenue at 5:05 a.m.
  • The BFD responded to a grass fire in the 2100 block of CR 257 at 9:06 a.m.
  • A sergeant and an officer offered a civil standby in the 100 block of West Sixth Street at 9:47 a.m.
  • Two sergeants, an officer, and the BFD responded to a request in the 800 block of West Industrial Loop at 11:48 a.m.
  • The BFD assisted Shackelford County with a grass fire at 12:19 p.m.

  • An officer, a sergeant, and a deputy responded to a report of suspicious activity in the 800 block of West Industrial Loop at 4:35 p.m.
  • A deputy performed a civil process in the 14000 block of CR 168 at 5:23 p.m.
  • An officer received a report of a suspicious person on East Elliot Street near the bridge at 6:29 p.m.
  • An officer responded to cows and calves seen in the roadway near CR 207 and CR 132-127 at 7:06 p.m.
  • Officers were requested for close patrol in the 500 block of North Rose Avenue at 7:33 p.m.

  • Officers were requested for close patrol in the 900 block of South Rose Avenue at 8:08 p.m.
  • Fire units were notified of a grass fire just north of Breckenridge at 8:17 p.m.

  • Officers responded to a theft report in the 100 block of East Second Street at 9:16 p.m.

  • A firefighter performed a follow-up on a fire from last night on U.S. Highway 183 North at 9:27 a.m.
  • A deputy was notified of a pot-bellied pig in the roadway in the 1400 block of East Walker
  • Street at 10:15 a.m.; its owner was not found.
  • The sheriff responded to a call about loose cattle on CR 717 at 11:30 a.m.

  • The BPD assisted Morehart Funeral Home with a funeral escort at 8:31 a.m.
  • The captain was notified of a CPS report regarding possible assault in another jurisdiction at 9:00 a.m.
  • An officer at the Law Enforcement Center spoke via telephone with a subject who reported assault at 12:21 p.m.
  • An officer responded to a report of suspicious activity in the 800 block of West Walker Street at 1:00 p.m.
  • An officer spoke with a subject via telephone after a report of burglary of a building in the 1900 block of West Elliot Street at 1:50 p.m.
  • The BPD received a report of reckless driving in the 500 block of West Walker Street at 1:53 p.m.
  • The captain recovered drug paraphernalia in the 300 block of North Douglas Street at 2:31 p.m.
  • The BPD performed a warranted arrest in the 900 block of West Dyer Street at 3:10 p.m.

  • At 9:58 p.m., officers responded to an assault reported in the 1200 block of West Fourth Street.

  • A deputy advised he would be conducting a field interview near U.S. Highway 183 South at 2:58 a.m.
  • An officer responded to a welfare concern near the 2600 block of West Walker Street at 3:37 a.m.
  • Officers were notified of loose animals near U.S. Highway 180 East at 6:23 a.m.
  • Medics responded to a request for an ambulance in the 4800 block of U.S. Highway 180 East at 7:16 a.m.
  • Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of West Fourth Street for close patrol at 10:15 a.m.
  • Officers were notified of an animal on the side of the road on U.S. Highway 183 North at 10:48 a.m.
  • An officer conducted a traffic stop in the 3700 block of West Walker Street at 11:10 a.m.

Arrest Report: Week of June 8-14, 2020
  • A 49-year-old woman was arrested on June 8 on a Bastrop County Warrant for Criminal Nonsupport. Her bond was set at $2,000.
  • A 35-year-old man was arrested on June 8 on a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1, less than one gram. He was also arrested on local warrants for Assault of a Family/Household Member, with a previous conviction (bond set at $25,000), and for Assault Causing Bodily Injury, Family Member, with previous conviction (bond set at $15,000).
  • A 46-year-old female was arrested for violation of a protective order on June 8.
  • A 43-year-old woman was arrested on June 11 on Stephens County Felony Warrants for Arson on a Habitation and two counts of Aggravated Assault, Family Violence. She was transported to Stephens County Jail without incident.
  • A 39-year-old male was arrested on a local Stephens County Warrant on June 12.
  • A 36-year-old female was arrested on June 13 for Assault Causing Bodily Injury, Family Violence.
