For the five Breckenridge Independent School District employees who retired at the end of this unusual school year, the district organized an out-of-the-ordinary retirement event: A drive-by retirement parade.

Complete with police cars and firetrucks, the mini-parade passed in front of the BISD administration building, where the retirees had gathered at 10 o’clock this morning, Thursday, June 11. Driving by to say good-bye were friends, family and co-workers, many of them calling out good wishes.

Additionally, the student athletes who were attending the morning’s strength and conditioning session walked over to the administration building to wish the retirees well.

Those retiring include Bryan Dieterich, Kim Dieterich, Donna Wade, Kelly Grissom and Jana Davis.
