Jerri B. Walker, 93, of Breckenridge passed away May 5, 2020, in Ranger, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 8, 2020, at the Breckenridge Cemetery Chapel under the direction Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home. The family welcomes anyone who wants to attend the service to join a service of not only humor and music, but of celebrating her life together.

Jerri Bridges was born on December 7, 1926, in Breckenridge, Texas, to parents Charlie Lynn and Henry Faye Bridges. She married Harvey Vernon Walker, Jr. on March 3, 1946. He preceded her in death in 2008. To this union was born three weird-o’s, Jacky Lynn (Punky Boy) and wife Linda (bless her heart!), Janis Faye (Tooter Bill) and husband Larry (who is never wrong!), and Juliane (Cool Jul) and husband Russell (Lucky Dog!).

Jerri was a workaholic, starting her career at Woolworths in 1942. From there she worked as an office nurse for Dr. Frank C. Payne in 1946, a floor nurse at Breckenridge Clinical Hospital, Holmes-Ford Clinic, and then Sears & Roebuck, where she worked her way up to manager until her retirement after 26 years.

She had a beautiful musical career, beginning with the accordion then transitioning to the piano and organ, but skipping the harmonica, saxophone and trombone… much to the delight of her mom and dad.

Jerri is survived by her warped children and their children, her grandchildren: Jody Walker and wife Jamie, Kelly Walker and wife Amy, Catherine Ramirez and husband R.E., Jacey Timmes and husband Steven, Shane Boles and wife Cory, Zabe Boles and wife Catherine, Bryan Herring, Jake Herring and wife Maria; great-grandchildren Braxton, Brooklyn, Brecka, Caitlyn, Ashlee, Emma, Madilyn, Tristan and wife Cassidi, Guerrin Hagen, Bailey Bryson, Prissy and Paisley; and two great-greats, Blaire and Summer. Her grandsons will be the pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jerri’s name to a charity of the donor’s choice and can be left at left the Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home office. Condolences may be made at meltonkitchens.com.
