City of Breckenridge lifts one boil water notice, issues another
The City of Breckenridge’s Public Works Director rescinded a boil water notice on Friday, April 3, and issued another one on Saturday, April 4.
BOIL WATER NOTICE
The new Boil Water Notice is for 100-400 South Pecan, 1100 and 1200 blocks of West Wheeler and West Hullum. It is effective April 4, 2020.
Due to conditions in the water system which have occurred (water line breaks), the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the City to notify all customers within the affected area to boil their water prior to consumption. To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source.
The Boil Water Notice will be in effect for a minimum of 48 hours. When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, water system officials will notify each customer directly in the affected area.

BOIL WATER RESCIND NOTICES
The City of Breckenridge has rescinded a Boil Water Notice issued last week. The rescinded notice, effective April 3, is for all of South Cutting, 100 blocks of East Power Street, East Cottage Street, East Parrish Street, East Valley Street and East Aberdeen Street. The original Boil Water Notice was issued on March 28.
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the City of Breckenridge to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform water customers that due to the interruption in service, water from the system needed to be boiled prior to consumption.
The City took the necessary corrective actions to restore adequate pressure, disinfectant levels, and/or bacteriological quality and has provided TCEQ with testing results indicating that the water no longer requires boiling.
