Stephens Regional SUD cancels boil water notice

Stephens Regional SUD cancels boil water notice
March 20
12:38 2020

The Stephens Regional Special Utility District has rescinded the Boil Water Notice for all its customers that was issued on March 18.

The Boil Water Notice had been issued because of a power outage that resulted in a loss of pressure that occurred on Monday, March 18. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) had required the water system, PWS 2150007, Stephens Regional Special Utility District, to notify customers to boil their water prior to consumption (e.g., washing hands/face, brushing teeth, drinking, etc.).

According to a notice received today, March 20, from Stephens Regional SUD, they have taken the necessary corrective actions to restore adequate pressure, disinfectant levels, and quality of the water distributed for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of March 20, 2020.

If you have questions concerning this matter you can contact the District’s office, 206 FM 3099, Breckenridge, TX, 254-559-6180 during business hours.  You may also contact Kelvin Nickell, Water Plant Operator at 254-488-2333 or Gary Brockman at 254-212-9980.
